America's Voices in Israel Relaunched, George Rohr Announces Irwin Katsof Named as New Director
“America’s Voices in Israel, a pioneering program begun ten years ago to bring broadcasters and media personalities to Israel has been relaunched after a reorganization process,” said George Rohr, NCH Capital Inc. Co Founder and Co- Managing General Partner and Chairman of America’s Voices. Mr. Rohr noted the remarkable achievements to date of this national program and the important role it has played. “We are now looking forward to even greater accomplishments under the leadership of the new Director, Irwin Katsof, who has had many years of experience bringing very prominent individuals to Israel. America’s Voices will reach out to key opinion molders and influential personalities who can help counter the distortions and misrepresentations about Israel that are increasingly common. We will be focusing on journalists and the new media, cultural and entertainment figures, diplomats and others who can reach broad audiences,” added Mr. Rohr.
“We believe that seeing and experiencing Israel is the best antidote to the efforts of those seeking to delegitimize and demonize Israel. The revitalizing of America’s Voices is part of a broader effort of the challenges of the 21st century, particularly the global campaign that challenges Israel’s right to exist and finds its expression in the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement,” Mr. Rohr said.
“We already have a number of high-level groups lined up, including leading TV and film personalities, diplomats and important bloggers who will be visiting Israel shortly. This is in addition to our ongoing program to bring broadcasters and media personalities,” he added.
Mr. Katsof said, “I feel honored to be part of such a critically important venture for the State of Israel and look forward to the opportunity to be of service to the State of Israel. We are off to a fast start by already bringing a group of Hollywood celebrities to Israel last month and look forward to a busy May and June with the cast of the hit show "House" coming to Israel as well as a group of leading Hispanic media personalities and journalists and a group of United Nations Ambassadors.
Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents, which helped create America’s Voices, said, “America’s Voices has proven its unmatched effectiveness over the years. The renewed organization will broaden its outreach to key sectors of opinion elites. America’s Voices will be a key component in the initiatives of the new Strategic Communications Center, which will provide answers to many of the perplexing problems we have faced in the past in getting the truth out about Israel and the Middle East. We are very excited about the addition of Irwin Katsof and the new members of the board under the leadership of George Rohr.”
Mr. Katsof earlier served as Executive Director of Honest Reporting and Founder of the Jerusalem Fund, which brought more than 1,000 leading business, political and entertainment leaders to Israel between 1995–2005. Mr. Katsof was Founder of the Los Angeles branch of Aish HaTorah as well as the ground breaking national "Words Can Heal" Campaign. He has authored three books, including the Publishers Weekly best seller Powerful Prayers, which he co-authored with Larry King, and has just finished his fourth book.
